Summer Meals and Snacks for Kids

Through SUN Meals, kids of all ages can eat meals and snacks during the summer at no cost at schools, parks, and other neighborhood locations. 

 

How to Get SUN Meals

SUN Meals are available to any child aged 18 and under, no application needed. Find meals at schools, parks, and other locations in your community using the USDA Summer Meals for Kids Site Finder

Summer Grocery Benefit for Kids

SUN Bucks provides $120 in grocery benefits per eligible school-age child when school is out for summer. SUN Bucks can be used to purchase food from authorized retailers in participating states, Tribes, and territories.

 

Children can receive SUN Bucks on top of other benefits like SNAP and WIC, and in addition to free SUN Meals from local meal sites!

Summer Power Packs

Power Packs Project is designed to help families stretch their grocery money, prepare low-cost, nutritious meals for their families over the weekend, and have their children well fed and ready to learn and thrive for the rest of the week.

 

EACH WEEK, YOU WILL RECEIVE:

A recipe, a pound of protein, fresh produce items, a quart of milk, and extra items such as peanut butter, cereal, healthy snacks, and canned fruits and veggies.

 

HOW DO I PARTICIPATE:

  • Verify and self-declare household size and income are at or below The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) guidelines.
  • Enroll electronically at: https://app.pantrysoft.com/login/powerpacksproject
  • Pick up your Packs on time each week at the designated time and location.
