UPDATE APRIL 18, 2024: The Buildings and Grounds Committee held a meeting on Tuesday, April 16.  During this meeting we discussed the 150 Country Club Road property.  On March 25, 2024 a Notice of Termination of the Purchase Agreement was received by the District therefore, ending an agreement with the interested buyer. 


Throughout the duration of this process several parties have indicated that there is other interest in purchasing this property for other uses. To our Red Lion Area School District constituents, we have heard you and as a result would like to give you the opportunity to explore the purchase of this property. 


We are asking that any individuals or groups that have an interest or a plan for the immediate purchase of this property please contact the district at [email protected]. Requests should be received by June 30, 2024.

 

 
Timeline:
  • October 2006 - 73.5 acres were originally purchased for $5.2M    ($70,748/acre) [10/5/2006]
  • 2013-2014 - 4.027 acres were used to complete the Jr. High fields (9&10)
  • February 2015 - The club house burnt. The District received $1M in insurance funds. [2/11/2015]
  • October 2017 - A LOI was signed for $260,000 to develop it for the purpose of a senior center using the front section and the pond (total of 13 acres). However, the sale was never completed and the deal fell through.
  • October 2018 - A LOI was signed for $1.5M to develop it for the purpose of a multi-family residential community. However, the sale was never completed and the deal fell through in April 2019.
  • March 2022 - The District subdivided 10 acres for the use of an employee Health Facility and to provide access to fields 9 & 10.
  • May 2022 - The District approves the sale of the property and enters into an Agreement of Sale. [5/23/2022]
  • January 2023 - The York County Court of Common Pleas approves the sale of the property. [1/10/2023]
  • May 2023 - The School Board approved a deed restriction for the 150 Country Club Road property.
  • March 2024 - A Notice of Termination of the Purchase Agreement was received by the District. [3/25/2024]
