BACK TO SCHOOL 2026 INFORMATION

Elementary:

The first day of school for grades 1-6 will be Monday, August 24, 2026. All grades 1 - 6 students will report to school in the morning at the regularly scheduled time. The schedule for the day will be an EARLY DISMISSAL.

Tuesday, August 25 will also be an EARLY DISMISSAL.

Kindergarten students will have a “Meet-and-Greet” session with their teacher during Meet the Teacher Night on Thursday, August 20 or during the school day hours on Monday, August 24 or Tuesday, August 25. The first day for kindergarten students will be Wednesday, August 26. Please call your student’s elementary school on/after Tuesday, August 4 to schedule an appointment for one of these days set aside for a “Meet and Greet.”

Junior High:

Monday, August 24 and Tuesday, August 25, 20265 - 7th grade students will report to school for orientation activities and will have an EARLY DISMISSAL each day. 

8th-grade students will complete activities remotely and should not report to school on these days. Classroom teachers will send an introductory email to students and parents.

All students will be expected to log on in the afternoons from home for virtual classes on the 24th and 25th. 

All students (7th and 8th grade) will report to school on Wednesday morning, August 26, 20265 for a full day of instruction.

Senior High:

On Monday, August 24 and Tuesday, August 25, 2026, all incoming 9th-grade students and new students in grades 10, 11, and 12 will attend in-person orientation activities.  These days will include an early dismissal.

Returning students in grades 9-12 will complete asynchronous activities remotely and should not report to school. Your classroom teachers will email an introductory message outlining the day's expectations. To be marked present, students must complete all asynchronous assignments for their scheduled classes.

 ALL students will begin full-day instruction on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

Classroom assignments for elementary schools and schedules for the junior & senior high schools will be posted to Student and Family Access on Skyward on Friday, August 7, 2026.

How can I be sure I will have access to information available in Skyward and receive updates throughout the year?

The Student Information Verification process will open July 27, and can be completed using a web browser. This process CANNOT be completed directly within the Skyward mobile app. Go to http://sisportal.rlasd.net in any browser on a laptop/mobile device (tablet or phone) or by selecting “Open in Browser” in the Skyward mobile app. You can also go to www.rlasd.net and click Parent Portal at the bottom of the screen to be directed to the login screen.

EVERY family should complete this process prior to August 7 when student schedules/homerooms/bus information is available. It is important to update contact information, including email addresses and phone numbers in order to receive up to date information, including notifications about emergencies, school closures, etc.

Meet the Teacher Night is scheduled for Tuesday, August 25, 2026, from 5:00-8:00  p.m. and will be split by grade level due to parking restrictions. Parents/ guardians will follow their student’s schedules. Please see the schedule below.

Red Lion Area Senior High

Join us for Meet the Teacher Night on Thursday, September 10, 2026, for students in Grades 9-12. The event will run from 5:15 PM to 8:00 PM.
Prior to meeting in the auditorium at 5:45 for our introduction, we will be holding an Activity and Club fair in the Commons beginning at 5:15 pm.  At 5:45 PM, we will meet in the auditorium for a brief introduction to our school from the administration and counseling team.  Afterward, parents will follow their student's schedule using the provided bell schedule:

We will be following a DAY 4 schedule. If your child has a study hall, you are invited to visit administration in the dining room.

Reduced Lunch - All students approved for reduced price lunches will receive free lunch

Students who qualify will receive a free or reduced lunch and breakfast based upon their family’s household income.

The Red Lion Area School District provides the necessary consumable supplies (paper, pencils, markers, etc.) and a computing device for all of our students each year.  Students may, as desired, bring their own personal supplies to school.
