BACK TO SCHOOL 2023 INFORMATION
Below is a brief summary of commonly asked questions.
When is the first day of school?
Elementary:
The first day of school will be Monday, August 21, 2023. All grades 1 - 6 students will report to school in the morning at the regularly scheduled time. The schedule for the day will be an EARLY DISMISSAL.
Tuesday, August 22 will also be an EARLY DISMISSAL.
Kindergarten students will have a “Meet-and-Greet” session with their teacher during Meet the Teacher Night on Thursday, August 17 or during the school day hours on Monday, August 21 or Tuesday, August 22. Please call the elementary school to schedule an appointment for one of these days set aside for a “Meet and Greet.”
Junior High:
Monday, August 21 and Tuesday, August 22, 2023 - 7th grade students will report to school for orientation activities and will have an EARLY DISMISSAL each day.
8th grade students will complete activities remotely and should not report to school on these days. Classroom teachers will send an introductory email to students and parents.
All students (7th and 8th grade) will report to school Wednesday morning August 23, 2023 for a full day of instruction.
Senior High:
Monday, August 21 and Tuesday, August 22, 2023 - 9th grade students will report to school for orientation activities and will have an EARLY DISMISSAL each day.
10th, 11th, & 12th grade students will complete asynchronous activities remotely and should not report to school on these days. Classroom teachers will send an introductory email to students and parents that will explain expectations for the day. Students need to complete asynchronous assignments in all scheduled classes in order to be marked present for the day.
ALL students will begin full-day instruction on Wednesday, August 23, 2023.
When will I receive information regarding my child's teacher and class schedule?
Classroom assignments for elementary schools and schedules for the junior & senior high schools will be posted to Student and Family Access on Skyward on Friday, August 11, 2023.

How can I be sure I will have access to information available in Skyward and receive updates throughout the year?
The Student Information Verification process is NOW OPEN and can be completed using a web browser. DO NOT use the Skyward mobile app for this process. Go to http://sisportal.rlasd.net in any browser on a computer or mobile device (tablet or phone) and login with parent/guardian credentials. You can also go to www.rlasd.net and click Parent Portal at the bottom of the screen to be directed to the login screen.
Student Information verification is an important part of the start of the school year in order to update contact information, including email addresses and phone numbers in order to receive up to date information, including notifications about emergencies, school closures, etc.
EVERY family should complete this process prior to August 11 when student schedules/homerooms are available.
When is Meet the Teacher Night?
All Meet the Teacher Night activities will be held in person.

Red Lion Area Junior High
Meet the Teacher Night is scheduled for Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. and will be split by grade level due to parking restrictions. Parents/ guardians will follow their student’s schedules. Please see the schedule below.

Meet the Teacher Night will take place on Thursday, August 24, 2023 for Grades 9-12 from 6:00 pm -8:00 pm. We will meet in the auditorium at 6:00 pm for a brief introduction to the school and parents will follow their student’s schedule according to the following schedule:
Introduction 6:00 – 6:10
Period 1 6:15 – 6:27
Period 2 6:31 – 6:43
Period 3 6:46 – 6:58
Period 5 7:02 – 7:14

What time do students have to be at school? What time are students dismissed?

9:00 am - 3:20 pm
Junior High

Doors open at 7:15 am
School Day: 7:38 am - 2:40 pm -
Dismissal: 2:40 pm - first bus wave - only students on the first wave will be dismissed
approximately 2:45 pm - second bus wave, walkers, riders, and drivers
How do I know what bus my child rides? When does the bus pick up? drop off?
All bus assignments will be available on the Skyward Family Access portal on August 11, 2023.

What school supplies does my child need?
The Red Lion Area School District provides the necessary consumable supplies (paper, pencils, markers, etc.) and a computing device for all of our students each year. Students may, as desired, bring their own personal supplies to school.
