About

Dr. Tim Smith currently serves as the Director of Information Technology Services.  In this role, he oversees the technology department, advising leadership and implementing short and long-term technology integration strategies across the Red Lion Area School District. Prior to this position, Dr. Smith began his career at Eastern York Middle School as a computer skills teacher.  He returned to Red Lion, his alma mater, to teach high school social studies and coach football and track & field.  In 2010, Dr. Smith became the assistant principal at Larry J. Macaluso Elementary and then served in the same capacity at the Red Lion Area Junior High from 2014 until 2016.  He also served as the interim principal of Clearview Elementary in 2016.
 
Dr. Smith is a Certified Education Technology Leader (CETL) and a Google for Education certified trainer. He serves as the representative between the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN) and the Pennsylvania Association for Educational Communications and Technology (PAECT) and currently sits on the national Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Council. In 2023, he received the Pennsylvania Chief Technology Officer Award from PAECT. Dr. Smith also serves as an adjunct professor at York College of Pennsylvania and is the supervisor of the Educational Leadership program.
 
Tim is a 1994 graduate of the Red Lion Area School District and lives in the District with his wife, Samantha (also a Red Lion Graduate), their two sons - Owen, Class of '23 and Evan, Class of '27, and two French Bulldogs - DeeDee and Apollo.
