Mr. Eric Wilson currently serves as the Chief Instructional Officer for the Red Lion Area School District. In addition to overseeing the writing, revision, and implementation of the K-12 curriculum, he serves as the District Assessment Coordinator for the PSSAs and Keystone Exams and as Federal Programs Coordinator. Mr. Wilson spent the first 11 years of his career with the Central Dauphin School District, serving as both a Science teacher in the CDSD Alternative Education program and as a Physics teacher at Central Dauphin High School. He then accepted a position with the Red Lion Area School District in 2006 to teach Physics, Nuclear Science, and Engineering Principles. Before moving into his current position, Mr. Wilson also served as the K-12 STEM Specialist and Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment for Red Lion. In addition to these experiences, Mr. Wilson had the opportunity to serve as the Interim Principal at Mazie Gable Elementary School.
Mr. Wilson has completed work at the state level with the Pennsylvania Department of Education on state assessments, components of the Act 82 educator effectiveness model, and in creating the Science Curriculum Framework. Most recently he participated on the Content Committee for the new PA science standards work. On the national level, Mr. Wilson has worked with the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) as a member of the Committee on High School Science Teaching and as overall chair of the 2014 NSTA STEM Forum and Expo National Conference. He has also served on several committees for Data Recognition Corporation, the creator of the PSSA and Keystone Exams.
